Abstract:
Motivations drive individuals to pursue certain directions and behaviors,
important to assist managers in seeking commitment and productivity
organizational. In voluntary work these forces are different from the traditional worker,
but they also need to be identified to assist managers of non-profit organizations
to provide quality services, including in the academic / university context.
In this sense, the objective of this work was to analyze the motivating factors of students who
voluntarily participate in PET and Junior Company projects. Methodologically,
We opted for a quantitative, exploratory-descriptive research, using the scale
motivation for voluntary work, developed and validated by Cavalcante (2016), with
factors of altruistic motivation, social justice, affiliation, learning and selfish. In the analysis of
data, descriptive statistics, correlation and t test were applied. The main results obtained
define that the learning factor as motivation predominates, however, they follow sequences
hierarchical differences in relation to the other factors: the members of the Junior Company seek
also for recognition, while those from the PET groups tend to seek to solve
social injustices.
