The English language teaching for children has been widely discussed today. Some authors
say that we are experiencing a resurgence of this area and that there is a pressure that
language learning occurs in childhood, since it can be easy to learn a new language during this
time of life. The facility that children have for learning foreign languages and my experience
in monitoring the planning of the classes of the 1st class of the "English Language Training:
Kindergarten and 1st and 2nd cycles of Basic Education", as well as our own interest in
teaching English to children, motivated us to conduct this research. This study focuses on
playful activities in 18 lesson plans and excerpts of teachers-trainees removed from three
reports were drawn up in a supervised training in 2013. This research intends to answer two
questions: (1) What playful activities are used by English-speaking teachers-treinee in
kindergarten in UAEI and how often do these activities take place? and (2) What is the
evaluation of trainees about the activities developed during the period of conducting classes?
The results show that among 28 activities that were analyzed and classified as playful
activities, 17 are activities with games performed in the classroom; 7 are activities with songs
shown in videos with images and 4 are activities with storytelling using puppets or backdrop
with images. After this categorization was made a reflection from the excerpts taken from the
three reports prepared in supervised training and one of the test results is that the child needs
the joke and she learns by playing, because if on one hand children spend some time
interacting with each other, at the same time they develop linguistic specificities during the
language learning.
