Resumo:
The objective was to evaluate the emergence, growth, phytomass accumulation and tolerance of the hybrid and varieties of pumpkin and moraine under saline stress. The experiment was carried out in protected environment (greenhouse), located in the municipality of Pombal, Paraíba, PB. The treatments were formed from a factorial scheme, 5 x 3, using four replicates, in a completely randomized experimental design, related to five irrigation water salinity levels and three genotypes of pumpkins and squasa. The seedlings of pumpkins and strawberries were cultivated in trays of 30 cells with a capacity of 0.1 dm3 of substrate, during the first 20 days after sowing. The were monitored for emergence, initial growth, accumulation of dry matter and by salinity tolerance. The increased salinity of irrigation water reduces the emergence and initial growth of the genotypes of pumpkins and squasa. The genotypes G2 - Moranga Crown and G3 - Hybrid Tetsukabuto are more tolerant to salinity in relation to genotype G1 - Abóbora Jacarezinho in the initial growth phase.
