Resumo:
National dairy cattle raising, even though it is a highlight among the world's largest producers, is still very heterogeneous. Some regions of the country are still under development, including the Northeast, which seeks to achieve quality standards and introduce itself with more emphasis on the competitive market, as is the case of the state of Pernambuco which is one of the most developed in the region, occupying the 8th place in the national milk production ranking. However, inner cities like Surubim, has presented a precarious and rudimentary milk production. The objective was to evaluate the dairy cattle producers of the municipality of Surubim-PE, in four dimensions: Institutional, social, environmental and economic. For the execution of this study, it was necessary to visit the breeding areas in the rural areas and the application of structured questionnaires with objective questions to 13 milk producers in the municipality. The results showed that the producers of the municipality work in the informal sector, generating losses to production and economic productivity. There is no supervision at federal, state or municipal level, leaving the desired quality of milk commercialized, besides not having an effective sustainable policy, justifying the low productivity and the reduction of producers in the municipality. It is necessary that the public authorities adopt training mechanisms to contribute to the local milk production, as well as the maintenance of the man in the field.
