It is in the context of drought, a phenomenon characteristic of the Brazilian Northeast Region, where the different relationships between human and nature are intertwined, that the implementation of a major project with the aim of solving the water issue, is strongly associated with scenarios of environmental degradation and social conflicts. . Thus, this article aims to analyze the representation of Quixeramobim PB families expropriated by PISF with respect to the socio-environmental interrelationships of living with the semiarid region. The survey was conducted with 50 residents, from November 2019 to November 2020, through a qualitative and qualitative approach and technical survey and case study procedures. The results show that the implantation of the project and the vast modification in the environment brought consequences to the relocated ones, both for the construction of its identity in its new territory, as well as in the development of means to live in the semiarid region. The information obtained from this research is of great importance, since the representation of the community appears as a tool to understand different conceptions about the environment, having a possibility to serve as a record available to both the population, as well as researchers and agents audiences that act in the management of the environment, opening space for a reflection for the elaboration of future actions that include the participation, conservation / preservation and coexistence of the community with the semiarid.
