Abstract:
There are many substances harmful to the environment that are emitted into the atmosphere by automotive vehicles, mainly due to the process of burning fossil fuels. The research intends to raise awareness about the importance of using ARLA-32 in the reduction of gaseous pollutants from automotive diesel engines. The theoretical assumptions underlying this study were the consultation in specific literature on the subject: the use of the automotive liquid reducing agent (ARLA 32) in diesel engines, as well as the norms of the National Council of the Environment and the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO). The research has a theoretical nature and does not intend to exhaust the theme, but rather to serve as a source for research and analysis on the harmful effects of emissions of pollutants from a diesel engine to the environment. In the literature review, several themes were discussed, such as: The Growing Vehicle Fleet and Environmental Aspect, Major Vehicle Pollutants and Human Health Effects, Legislation on Vehicular Air Pollution, Diesel Engine, Nitrogen Oxides + Ammonia, PROCONVE, Phase P-7 and Emission Limits, SCR System, ARLA-32, Urea and Water for ARLA-32, Possible Problems in the Implementation of PROCONVE P-7. In addition to the use of the system, it is necessary to adopt other measures in conjunction with PROCONVE P-7, such as restrictions on the movement of trucks in urban centers, incentives for the use of locomotion on bicycles, among others. Only in this way is it possible to have an environment with a better quality of life.
