Resumo:
The growth of cities has been presented in a manner proportional to the socio-environmental impacts generated from the use and occupation of the soil, through waterproofing and occupations allocated in risk areas, which has not accompanied this development are the control measures that should be used (Infrastructure, zoning, environmental licensing, among others), in order to form a chain between structural techniques and the regulation of municipal laws in order to avoid the occurrence of floods and consequently damage to the population in question. The present work sought to evaluate the service of the drainage system to its local demand in the city of Sousa - PB through the choice of one of the streets that represented well the theme in question given its history of flooding, from this was carried out the topographic analysis of the stretch With the help of the Google Earth tool together with trips to the field to verify the critical point of the same, located in a lower point of the street where the encounter of the flows happens and consequently the damming of the waters, due to the presence of a damping system of Precipitations failed with few components of drainage, as well as the absence of laws and documents referring to the theme in the city, said the work was developed in order to contribute with the society in search of possible legal and technical solutions that would meet the needs of the area, Since it is a marked reality throughout the country.
