Resumen:
The understanding of monthly, quarterly, and annual spatial pluviometric precipitation in a basin or sub-basin is of paramount importance for the management of available water resources, useful for assisting in climatological and hydrological studies. This work aims to provide a contribution to hydrological studies based on the spatialization of monthly, quarterly and annual rainfall data using geostatistical methods in the sub- basin of the Piancó river in the state of Paraíba. For the spatialization, pluviometric data of 33 stations in the sub-basin of the Piancó river were used in three periods 1940
- 2016 (76 years of data); 1960 - 1980 (20 years); 1997 - 2016 (19 years) and the IDW geostatistical method was used to map the annual, quarterly and monthly mean precipitation in the sub-basin. It was noted that the highest annual rainfall values were distributed in the central part of the basin and the lowest precipitation values were distributed at the basin limit. The quarterly spatialisation shows the driest quarter (Jan
/ Feb / Mar) and (Apr / May / Jun), with maximum surroundings of 400-500 mm, the driest quarter (Jul / Aug / Sep) and (Oct / Nov / Dec) with maximum values below 100 mm. In the monthly spatialization, it was generally found that the first seven months are rainy and the last six months dry.
