“Nós por nós”: solidariedade feminina nas interfaces entre sororidade e dororidade - práticas e discursos em grupos de mulheres numa rede social digital.

Abstract

This thesis has as main objective to discuss practices and discourses of female solidarity experienced by women in groups on the internet through the social network Facebook. These groups appear as means of discussion about various topics which work mainly as a tool of resistance, empowerment and support network between women, configuring new forms of feminist activism, and arise in the face of the communicational transformations that affect the organizational forms of contemporary society. The research was carried out from a time frame that includes the period of 2017 and 2020 and analyzed two groups of women from two different cities - Maceió (AL) and Campina Grande (PB). In this thesis, we problematize issues related to cyberspace, cyberculture and cyberactivism, and also about conducting research on the internet, as this research is part of this context. In the results, we observed that the new communication tools made possible the emergence of multiple forms of interaction, among them the solidarity networks established between groups of women. At the same time, the data analysis revealed that, in the cases observed in the study, the woman who appears in the groups, based on the term sorority, is a white woman, from the middle class, with conflicts and challenges that are marks of such social segments.The combination of women's historical struggles and the occupation of spaces such as those of digital media are important for the debate and for overcoming many obstacles and prejudices that still make life difficult for many women.The progress of such struggles reveals, paradoxically, that there are many other women and segments that are still outside the networks of solidarity that the women of the investigated groups establish.
