Abstract:
The present study is an analysis of wind power, seeking its best use as a
renewable source for electricity generation. The center of interest is in addressing
various aspects that involve, from its origin, explanation of their scope, advantages and
disadvantages to future projections. Finally, we present a study of winds and rainfall
regimes in Brazilian Northeast and their seasonality are shown the degree of
complementarity between these two types of power generation, highlighting the
importance for the future of the Brazilian Energy Matrix.
