Resumen:
To ensure that the system operates safely and objectivity is present to protect the electrical
system, which ensures that in case of failure of the system it will not harm the entire electrical
system. Protective relays have distinct features as distance protection, overcurrent protection,
differential protection, among others, however, the same relay can contain all of these
functions are digital relays, that with the development of new technologies have dominated
the market of electricity. The differential protection, one of the functions of a digital relay,
ensures protection of short transmission lines. This work consists in the implementation and
evaluation of the function of the differential protection of transmission lines using the CAPE
software. For be unusual the use of differential protection of transmission lines, some
adaptations was realized on the models and software results.
