Resumo:
The technological advances are becoming increasingly present in the day-to-day life of
the humanity. The use of smartphones, notebooks and other devices are shaping an
entire generation. This brought the necessity of an uninterrupted electrical supply, this
way batteries became the medium of supply which guaranties electrical energy even in
the case of faults in the electrical grid. One of the main issues in the use of batteries is to
assure the proper charging, so they can be fully charged without elevation in
temperature and without overcurrent. Therefore, the objective of this work is to build a
prototype of a battery charger using the Two Step Constant Voltage charging method,
digitally implemented in a microcontroller. This method was chosen based in the
attempt to prolong the battery's useful life.
