Resumo:
Smart grids emerge as an innovation for the old existing electrical networks. This
innovation brings many benefits to electric utilities, consumers and all businesses that
create and manufacture the intelligent technologies. In this paper is presented an
approach for smart grids, highlighting the benefits arising from it, the key technologies
that need to be inserted in traditional electrical networks to make them smart, besides
showing the deployment of this technology in Brazil and in the world. The emphasis of
this work are the electrical current intelligent sensors. In this particular, are presented
some types of these sensors, their operating principles, the most suitable materials used
in its construction, such as amorphous alloys and nanocrystalline alloys and their
applications in the electrical system. Prior are shown the main differences between
conventional current sensors and smart sensors
