Resumo:
For the study of the economic operation of power systems, this report uses the
Method of Lagrange Multipliers for obtaining the best economic load distribution. This
method is used both for distribution of load among the generating units of a power plant
and for the distribution of load between plants. For the distribution of loads between
plants, it takes into account the effectiveness of transmission losses. Therefore, there is
the importance of the use of transmission equipment with high performance. The best
economic load distribution will occur when the transmission losses are minimal and when
the contribution of each generator unit is such that the cost of power generated is minimal.
