Résumé:
In this work we discuss the implementation of quantum processors using ion
traps. We present the basic principles of quantum computing, emphasizing the
difference between classical bits and qubits, and the operations performed on these by
quantum logic gates. We discuss the main features of ion traps, emphasizing linear
traps. We show how quantum gates can be implemented using the system of ions
confined electromagnetically. We present the results of numerical simulation of a linear
ion trap type Paul performed with COMSOL Multiphysics ® software, resulting in the
confinement of an 40��+ ion, whose movement has presented the expected
characteristics, being in agreement with what is theoretically predicted.
