Resumo:
Wireless Sensors Network (WSN) are versatile, reconfigurable and very autonomous
tools. Since sensor and actuator nodes are key-components to WSN and are made by a
radio communication unit, in this work a basic but very important piece for the system
was developed: the Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO). In order to do that, several
types of VCOs were analyzed. The chosen frequency band was 2.45 GHz, used in
industrial, scientific and medical applications, because it doesn’t need a license. By
following the analog integrated circuits’ design flow, the circuit’s layout was developed.
A ring VCO was chosen. Simulation results after parasitic parameters extraction were
satisfactory.
