Resumo:
According to a report from UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific
and Cultural Organization) released in March 2015, it is estimated that the water
reserves in the world can shrink up to 40% by 2030. The document states that in the
world there is enough water to meet the growing needs of the consumer, provided there
is a change in the use of this resource, because the way in which man find himself will
lead to a water crisis. The home automation project presented here proposes a smallscale
solution to this problem, consisting of an automatic control system for plant
irrigation. The central processing unit will be the Arduino development board, besides
having bluetooth communication, sensing, data acquisition and actuators. Another
characteristic is the low cost of the project, as well as its short-term financial returns and
its ability to expand to larger scale solutions.
