Resumen:
To study the effect of the vinasse application on water seepage, an experiment was
conducted on static irrigation channels at the Coruripe Sugarnills, in the State of
Alagoas, Seepage of vinasse, residual water and irrigation water was detemined on
non pre-treated and vinasse pre-treated irrigation channels. On the non-pretreated channels, the degree of seepage depended on the fluid characteristics. The vinasse pre-treatment increased the global density of the soil and therefore their porosity, responsible for the seepage, decreased. The seepage of fluids after the pre-treatment depended on the characteristics of these. High doses of vinasse eliminated the probable dispersant effect caused by the first application of vinasse.
