Resumen:
In the last decades, the wind power is the one among all other power sources that
shows the highest growth, which the global expectations’ spotlight is focused on the wind
generation located on seas. Therefore, this paper presents the current situation of wind
generation, with emphasis on offshore generation, describing the highlighted countries’
scenario with this sort of technology, the same time an analysis concerning the possibility
of implementation of this kind of generation in Brazil is done. The most appropriate
methodology to this paper, a bibliographic research, was used as a way to gather concisely
the mandatory information about the offshore wind generation. This paper aims to clarify
the costs and advantages related to this alternative source of energy, as well as to present
the long and short term future perspective.
