Resumo:
The drive to reduce fuel consumption in the transportation sector has reached
unprecedented levels in the last five years. Hybrid and electric vehicles are sought after
as critical technologies that can reduce fuel consumption and emission of CO2, the
increased levels of which in the atmosphere are considered a major contributor to
global warming. Various governmental policies around the world are providing
financial incentives for vehicle electrification, setting standards for lower fleet-average
fuel consumption and even mandating the introduction of electrified vehicles. In this
context, this Undergraduate Final Project presents an application study of Lead-Acid
batteries for Hybrid Electric Vehicles.
