Resumen:
The vulvovaginitis are considered the chief complaints of women seen in health services, by unpleasant symptoms such as runny, rash, dysuria, dyspaureunia, which impact negatively on daily life and quality of life of women. Factory contributing to the onset of these diseases may be associated with sexual promiscuity, poor personal hygiene, among other. The basic strategy for the control of these infections is the health information, through educational activities that focus on risk perception, changes in sexual behavior, promotion and adaption of preventive measures. In this context, this study aims to investigate the knowledge of users of a Unit Family Health (UFH) about vulvovaginitis, and to identify from their perception, the guidance provided by the health team about the prevention of vulvovaginitis. This is a descriptive, field, with quanti-qualitative approach, the scope of research include a UFH
located in the city of Cajazeiras-PB. The data were collected in the month of November, through a questionnaire addressed to 30 users, and them analyzed in the light of relevant literature theme. The results indicate that the respondents are inserted in this age 18 to 50 years, 90% heard of vulvovaginitis, however, only 26% correlated to a vaginal problems, 77% realized the preventive exam, where 57% reported to have changes in the results of their exams related to candidiase, gardnerella. When asked about their level of satisfaction on the
activities of health education developed by the team 73% of users said they were not satisfied and only 57% received guidance on the vulvovaginitis. It is considered that the respondents have a limited knowledge of the subject, and although access to health services, attention to them exempt does not meet yours expectations. Having thus the need to improve the educational activities related to prevention and health promotion, focusing on sexuality and quality of life of women in order to sensitize them on the issue in question.
