It was aimed at this work to evaluate the initial growth of the species in the backwoods Paraibano sobbing saline stress. The experiment was conducted between the months of August and October of 2017, at home of vegetation of the center of Science and Technology Agro, Campus Pombal, UFCG, the experimental design used was in randomized blocks (DBC), with five treatments and six Repetitions with their conductivity applied after 30 days of the completion of the medium: T1 = 0.3; T2 = 1.5; T3 = 3.0; T4 = 4.5; T5 = 6.0 dS m-1. As variables evaluated outside the percentage of emergencies (PE) at 30 days after the and after the beginning of the treatments performed four fortnightly measurements of stem diameter (DC), plant height (AP), leaf number (NF) and foliage area (AF). The data was submitted to variance analysis, as averages grouped by the test F to 1% and 5%. An emergency of 42,85% was observed, and significant difference between how doses of saline applied for as study variables, stem diameter at 45 and 60 days of treatment, plant height at 30, 45 and 60 days, and foliage area at 45 and 60 days after the beginning of It treats, with linear effect decreasing for all. It is concluded that the temperature and relative humidity of the air negatively influenced the percentage of plants emerged, and irrigation with different saline levels influenced negatively the initial development of D. Ecastophyllum.
