Resumo:
Among the major concerns of the world today is the need to obtain energy through
renewable sources. Photovoltaic systems are an alternative to this problem. This course
conclusion work deals with the use of photovoltaic solar energy applied to pumping
water. From the presented cases it made it possible to assess the feasibility and reliability
of this system, with attention to information about projects with photovoltaic pumping
systems for use in irrigation of small farms, particularly those installed in dry and poor
areas of water, which are commonly the most adept in terms of heat stroke, such as the
rural area of Northeast Brazil. From this analysis was a synthesis of experiences with
identifying the key barriers and potential of its use. The employment potential of this
technology proved to be relevant in the irrigation of these rural communities, both
because of the energy potential in the location where the experiment was conducted, as
due to the volume of water pumped capacity for agricultural production.
