Abstract:
Given the importance of wind farms to meet the technical standards as specified in
accordance with the region where they will be installed, it is necessary to study the power
converters connected to the grid, and the control strategy to perform the frequency control
and voltage regulation, active and reactive power control and provide quick responses during
transient and dynamic situations in the power system. This paper presented and discussed,
using simplified network and converter models, two operating modes corresponding to
the DC system: when the converter is connected to the grid and when it is disconnected
from the network. These two operating modes correspond to different applications and
lead to different dynamics requiring different controller desings.Based on the DC network
case, and using the Clarke-Park transformation, where the alternating voltage and current
variables are transformed into constant references in the dq axis, it was designed a power
controller for the AC network case.
