Résumé:
In this work, the system of Iris Recognition proposed by Daugman in 1993 is
described. Special attention was given to the feature extraction and comparison steps,
because in the first is the insertion of redundancies in the iris due to the application of
Gabor’s Filter. It was demonstrated that after the results obtained in the second step, it is
possible to quantify the number of degrees-of-freedom in an iris code. An experiment
was reproducing the Daugman’s system was accomplished using OSIRISv4.4 software.
For performance metrics were calculated the parameters of degree-of-freedom, FRR
given an FAR of 0.1% and EER. In addition the previous simulation, was accomplished
other 5 simulations with the objective of analyzing the system’s performance given an
uniform distribution application point, whose points are in the less occlusion regions. In
this set of simulations can be seen the increasing of degrees-of-freedom with the
increasing of the number of application points.
