Resumo:
Water management resources is extremely complex, mainly due to a large number of variables that involve decision process. In this way, it is feasible to use decision support systems to facilitating the dialogue between the mathematical models and the system operator. This work aimed to calibrate and validate a newly developed decision support system and to use it as support for the water allocation in Engenheiro Ávidos reservoir. This reservoir is responsible for the water supply of two cities and for the supply of the São Gonçalo dam. The methodology consisted in calibrating the reservoir operation model, verifying the consistency of the results obtained with SADÁguas software with observed real values, making adjustments if necessary, as well as in the analysis of future scenarios. It is possible to observe the adequacy of the use of software for the problem in the study and to identify limitations that can be solved in the next version of the software. In addition, the reservoir’s ability to meet the demands in different precipitation scenarios were analyzed and the rules operation were defined.
