Resumo:
The growing need for alternative energy sources for fossil fuels has made the study and
search for new sources more and more. This quest focuses on renewable energies, so that
the reduction of global warming is sought. Among the renewable energies, solar energy
is available in much of the world, including in Brazil, the Northeast region with a very
high solar potential. The search for new technologies to make better use of these energies
is constant and of paramount importance, given that the world is in an alarming process
of warming. Solar thermal energy, together with photovoltaic solar energy, are forms of
energy generation through solar energy and are being increasingly explored worldwide.
The work will show a study on renewable energy in Brazil and the world, with emphasis
on solar thermal energy using central receiver technology; Will show the evolution and
also the prospects of the plants for the next years, as well as showing the full functioning
of the technology and its installation costs. From this study it was possible to make a
survey of how the central solar energy receptor type in the world is, as well as the
evolution of its cost.
