Resumo:
Solar thermal energy is a renewable energy source that enables the use of energy
through thermodynamic processes. The Concentrated Solar Power, specifically parabolic
trough have been used since from the 80s. However, despite been mature can become not
feasible if compared with other types of technologies that use the sun as primary source
of fuel as the photovoltaic technology. The parabolic trough model uses systems that
concentrate incident radiation on a turbo absorber, heating a high – temperature a fluid
that is used in a conventional thermodynamic cycle - similarly in thermoelectric plants
fed by fossil fuels. Over the years, a solar thermo technology has been developed a lot
and has attracted many nations. Its evolution and implementation perspective for the
coming years is quite encouraging, once after proven its efficiency and economic
viability, many countries with high solar potential has invested in this model of power
plant.
