Resumo:
Energization currents in robust, highly inductive electric equipment – such as power
transformers – Are extremely noxious to the operation of power systems, causing a number of
undesirable consequences: unwanted protection actuation, voltage sagging, damage to
transformer coils due to electromechanical stress, reduction on lifespan of equipment, etc. The
following work seeks to understand and simulate inrush in power transformers. The chosen
software for the task is MATLAB, specifically its toolbox SIMULINK, a powerful electric
system modeling tool. Then, we seek validation of different mitigation methods for inrush
currents available in literature. An analysis of the results achieved concludes the work.
