Resumo:
The current situation of the Brazilian construction market, with a large number of
constructions and reduced deadlines, allows that practices intended for cost, waste and
time reductions spent in the execution of projects are required and well seen. Therefore,
trying to meet these expectations concerning to projects in the field of electrical
engineering in civil construction, this work proposes an investigation into what ways
this can be achieved. In the work described here, from a comparative analysis between
the structural and external projects of the Protection System against Atmospheric
Discharges of a multi-family building located in the city of Campina Grande, it is
possible to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of choosing one over the other,
aiming at those practices mentioned above and, lastly, some considerations are made on
the compatibility of the projects that involve the execution of a civil work. The result of
the analysis proves that the use of the structure itself, in the case of the structural
system, is the best solution for different levels of protection required by the building.
