Abstract:
With the growing difusion of the Internet of Things concept and the advances in lowpower
electronics, the RFID (radiofrequency identification) technology has gained space in
research and daily applications, in areas from entertainment to medicine, for exemple. Its
sensing and signal processing capability allows us to highlight this technology as one of the
main solutions in cost and complexity reduction for these applications. This work presents a
study about the use of a RFID tag operating in the American UHF frequency of 915 MHz, for
human motion detection. Initially, a theoretical study on the subject will be done, followed by
the proposal and simulation of the tag geometry, as well as its production and validation tests.
