Resumen:
For many years mankind has focused its attention on energy sources from fossil
fuels that have great environmental impact. As a way to reduce the emission of pollutant
gases in the atmosphere and to make better use of the available energy sources in nature,
photovoltaic energy emerged a few decades ago and today appears as a possibility for
the generation of electricity. This work seeks to conduct a study on solar energy. In
order to do so, the research was carried out respecting the basic knowledge that involves
the subject, as well as to deepen the technical knowledge in projects of installation of
photovoltaic modules. For the study was chosen a residence in the municipality of
Teresina-PI and to make the project as reliable as possible were taken into consideration
aspects such as: system losses, inflation, available area, panel slope and solar radiation
at the residence. Finally, an economic analysis was carried out to determine if the
project is viable or not. For this, we used economy techniques such as Payback and Net
Present Value (NPV).
