Resumo:
This undergraduate thesis is a search for a way to get enough clean water for a
family's daily life using the energy from the sun. In the Brazilian semiarid, many families
suffer from a lack of treated water. They generally use artesian well water, mostly
brackish water, which can have a high level of biological contamination and can cause
serious health damage. The idea is to create equipment that can purify water at low cost
compared to equipment available on the market, making it accessible to those who need
it most. The purification method used in this work is evaporative desalination, which
consists of heating the water to its boiling point and then condensing the water vapor,
since it does not carry impurities.
