This dissertation has as main objective to propose a didatic material that can guide the realization of the Reading Cycle in Portuguese language classes for students from 6th to 9th grade based on literacy practices, specifically literary, repurpose and students ’ formation as readers . In this sense, this dissertation discusses the concepts of reading based on Freire (1981), Koch and Elias (2013), Cosson (2018), Solé (1998), among others, aiming at showing the importance of teaching such a component through literary texts in order to awaken in the student the taste for reading, highlighting the role of the teacher as reader and mediator, and the school as the locus of development for this formative process. The dissertation also debates issues related to literature and teaching in relation to literary literacy, as well as the role of the textbook in reading practices. The pedagogical product consists of a textbook created only for the reading of literature, called Literary Paths for the Classroom, which will be useful of the Reading Cycle, since it provides activities on different narrative subgenres or mode: Fable, Fairy tales, Adventure novel, Gothic, Literature in comics, Romantic novel, Science Fiction. Each chapter of the textbook proposed here envolves prereading, while reading and after reading activities that stimulate fruition and help promoting literary literacy.
