Resumo:
Energy Management is already extremely important for large energy consumers, aiming
a better management of the electric energy as a production necessary input and energy
efficiency, when making large investments to apply technical and administrative measures in
the energy consumption scope. However, small and medium-sized energy consumers often do
not have the financial conditions or corporate structure to implement such actions that require
large investments and the mobilization of qualified personnel. The present work aims to
demonstrate the importance of Energy Management not only for large, but also for small and
medium consumers, seeking suitable alternatives to the realities of these consumers. As a
management application tool, the Energy Diagnosis will be studied to serve as a guide for
decision making by the energy management team, aiming to reduce the costs related to the
consumption of electric energy. With the accomplishment of a case study of application of an
energy diagnosis methodology, it is shown that it is possible to perform a survey of the
characteristics of the consumer and the identification of points to be corrected in the plant,
leading to the identification of a potential cost reduction with energy in the range of up to 9.59%.
