Abstract:
In the current footwear industrial scenario of the country a company that wants to survive the
market must have knowledge about all the variables that affect negatively it`s costs.
Consequently, a study about how electric energy is utilized it is crucial. The main objective of
this study is to undertake an analysis about the current energy consumption of the company to
identify and measure the costs related to its electrical system for future analysis and reduction
of expenses and proposing measures that contribute to the efficient use of electricity.
Furthermore, Using an energy consumption meter developed at the Federal University of
Campina Grande, it was observed that the possibility of distributed generation is an option for
the company, since its consumption is entirely at the daytime during solar incidence, as was
also done the analysis of the behavior of the meter against the reliability of its means, using
window type CT's, widely commercialized in the local trade.
