Resumo:
Bird hunting is a common habit in Brazil, which has become a cultural activity and is
growing economically both nationally and internationally. One of the reasons for this is
the great biodiversity that the country presents. And with this, the unbridled hunting of
both birds and other animals has been worrying Brazilian environmentalists for putting
several species on the line of extinction. As a way to evaluate this worrying activity, the
scientometric indexes are ideal to follow the effort in scientific publications on the subject
and can be used as a way to better know the relevance of research. The objective of this
research was to demonstrate quantitatively and qualitatively the reality in which research
in the field of ornithological hunting is found in recent years in Brazil. A survey of articles
from the last five years was carried out in the Capes, Springer Link Scientometrics, and
Scielo databases and in the Revista Brasileira de Ornitologia, because they are databases
with a wide range of scientific publications and the journal because it deals with
ornithological research. it was therefore concluded that the results were that there was a
slight increase in publications on exploratory hunting, published in journals with qualis
of national relevance and in institutions with scores considered excellent by qualis Capes,
with the majority of the works having an approach focused on the species conservation.
