Abstract:
The production of biogas for the generation of electric energy, has become
increasingly used as an alternative source of generation, contributing to diversify and
supply the energy demand, in addition to contributing to the reduction of environmental
impacts. This renewable energy source has developed considerably in the rural
environment, generating economic, social and environmental development. This growth
has resulted in decreases in methane gas emissions from animal-generated waste, and
producing a by-product that is biofertilizer, which can be used as high-quality organic
fertilizer. In this context, the present work intends to make a general analysis on biogas,
electric power generation, technologies used, and finally carries out a case study aiming
at designing a generation system for a small dairy cattle breeding property.
