Resumo:
Heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, reaching developed
and underdeveloped countries, and it has been showing continued and alarming
growth. An early diagnosis of this type of anomaly is essential to reduce mortality.
The main, and most common, way of diagnosing heart disease is the Electrocardiogram
(ECG), being performed in clinics and laboratories under the supervision of a
professional in the area. Consequently, it is easy to observe the need for a preventive
diagnosis in order to minimize the high mortality rates of these types of diseases.
Therefore, the objective of this work is the development of an intelligent program,
based on Machine Learning, to facilitate the identification of cardiac diseases from
electrocardiograms.
