Resumo:
This work deals with the case study of the electrical installations of the Intensive Care Unit of
the Real Hospital Português de Beneficência in Pernambuco (RHP), site of Group 2 of Health
Care Establishments (EAS). The equipment and electrical installations that are used in these
environments must receive quality energy due to the requirements of reliability and safety that
these establishments must offer. To guarantee the supply of uninterrupted energy, the
requirement of places such as Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and Surgical Centers, for example,
must be powered by the Medical IT System grounding scheme. This work brings, in a clear and
succinct way, what specifies the standards NBR 13534, NBR 5410 and RDC nº 50ª, in addition
to the application of these standards in the ICU of Real Hospital Português, site of group 2,
object of study of this work. It was possible to conclude that it is important to have an electrical
project complying with the current regulations for this type of installation. And it is also
essential to integrate the areas of Clinical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and the Medical
Staff in order to be able to satisfy the demands that EAS require. In addition, more resources
should be invested in these facilities and especially in the Medical IT System to prevent
accidents to patients and the medical staff, ensuring safety and reliability in the supply of
electrical energy for the group 2 environments.
