Resumo:
Lasers are optoelectronic devices that convert electric energy into optical
energy, working as sources of signals for optical communication systems.
Gain chips are active components of lasers that would emit photons in certain
range os frequencies. In special, Multi Quantum Well gain chips provide
good characteristics such as high output power and can operate in high temperatures.
In this work will be presented simulations of Multi Quantum Well
lasers, starting with modal simulations, next performing quantum system wavefunction
calculation and finishing with cavity simulations. The simulations
are of gain chips of Idea! Electronic Systems company, from which measured
data will be compared with the results of the performed simulations.
