Resumen:
This research aims to present a study on how music can help the teaching of the Portuguese language, in a way that responds to the social and cultural context of the students and contributes to the teaching of the Portuguese language through interdisciplinarity with Art. Thus, this study will use ethnographic methods, since it refers to a specific group of society, in addition to a qualitative and interpretative analysis. The theoretical deepening was based on Candau (2008, 2012), Barbosa (2008, 2011), BortoniRicardo (2001, 2008), Bakhtin (2003), Rojo (2012), Koch (2015), in addition to studies on the Theory of Ausubel's significant learning (2000) and the following guiding documents: National Curriculum Parameters (1998) and the Common National Curriculum Base (2017). After analyzing the data, a repertoire of songs was organized that reflect the social and cultural context of the students, which will serve as a resource for the development of Portuguese language activities, so that it contributes to a meaningful learning, starting from what they already know. Therefore, this research was important to identify the musical tastes of students and teachers and to understand the existing differences, in the school and classroom context. Thus, it was possible to envision possibilities for pedagogical approaches that can meet the expectations of teachers and students.
