Résumé:
The Brazil of the 1930's was undergoing transformations due to a modernization
process, these transformations involving changes not only in physical spaces, but
especially in the subjectivity of existing ones. It was not only transforms the space from
outside, it was not just the level of legal changes, a transition from a rural country, and
superstitious to a bureaucratic state, city. Since it is not just say that space, once worked
so well the Brazilian historiography, this thesis is dealing with the space inside, but to
deal with this subjective space, it was necessary to go through these transformations,
such as devices that resulted in compositions subjectivities, identities. In that sense, this
dissertation deals with a main body of work of the writer Graciliano Ramos, but until
then, seemed not receive due importance, it is the question of ethics, selfishness and
loneliness: two isolated works to be analyzed , you are, S. Bernard and Anguish, then
we propose to filter the trademarks of ethics throughout the life of the author, from the
interpretation of his work. The marks left on time, fuel was to locate, as we call this
ethic of responsibility, will be showing throughout the book to the author, such as
confluence, resentment, bitterness, you will be petrifying this work, both for all was
only possible to announce the very influence that transformed society in the 1930s,
Brazil had over the Northeast and the author works.
