Resumo:
There is a major difficulty faced by teachers of science and Biology are disciplines that
require the use of laboratory practice and trials with greater frequency. In order to know the
reality of four educational institutions, we decided to work this issue: from theory to practice:
the evaluation of laboratories and science and Biology experiments. For this, our work aimed
to investigate the relationship between theory and practice in the laboratory classes and
experiments of science and Biology on four schools in the town of Abu in Paraiba as well,
check the importance and frequency of use of experimental classes or Labs, evaluating the
structural conditions of the laboratories and list the main difficulties of the educators in the
implementation of these classes. Our survey was conducted between May and August of
2012, we had as audience six educators, and ninety students. The level of research according
to the nature of the data is qualitative in character, and relative to the goals characterized as
exploratory research. We opted for the data collection for bibliographical research and field
research. Therefore, from this research it was found that the teachers feel difficulties, that
there is a lack of laboratories, there is large amount of students in classrooms, and that there is
a lack of available materials. However, all of these factors should not prevent the
implementation of practices and experiments with greater intensity, as were mentioned some
alternatives that can help to change the current reality.
