monthly from April to August 2011, where each week of the month during daytime and
nighttime characterizations were made on the environment through a square pipe does square
meters, 20 samples were carried out at every tum. The items found were counted according to
their category: Paper, plastic, organic, metal and rubber. According to the results over the
garbage produced in the center o f the living UFCG I CES was the organic material that was
most prominent in all the results compared both overall production of waste per shift.
Featuring 87, 8% o f the total solid waste produced from the collection site. With this research
we can conclude that the production of solid waste is of concem, but the solutions only
occurred in a concrete way through the full participation of the community. The
implementation of selective collection and the work continues for Environmental Education
will enable the academic community to rethink attitudes and behavior that degrades the
environment.
