Abstract:
Health promotion represents a change in the direction of social actions. Among the several professionals involved in such promotion, the nursing professional stands out, whose main object of work is the care to the human being, which is given by the interaction nurse-customer in situations of both illness and health. The objective was to evaluate the practice of health promotion from the use of
digital graphic art in social networks as a tool in this process. It is a transversal, observational study of quantitative and qualitative approach, performed with the population that uses Instagram social network, from the creation of the profile account "Health in hands". Inclusion criteria were adopted as: being resident in the Brazilian federation, without restrictions on age, sex, color or ethnicity. Twenty images were produced by the researcher himself, being used 10 after the raffle. The data were collected in the domain. The account of the instagram
"Health in the hands" counted with 1,029 followers, the majority of which were female, in the 25 to 34 age group. The published images had a positive influence, with greater emphasis on Physical Activity, Prostate Cancer, Depression, Diabetes and Sexually Transmitted Infections, which reached over 25 tanned and 486 views. From the analysis of the content of the comments of the posts, five categories were built: Importance of Information, Benefit of Information, Transformation through Information, Prevention through Information and Valorization of the initiative. It is concluded that the nurse does not necessarily need to be in a physical environment to promote health, since social media have a great power of dissemination and reach, forming a great ally for promotion.
