Resumen:
The market has become increasingly competitive and customers are even more demanding, so
companies need to seek strategies in order to remain competitive and consequently guarantee
their permanence in it. In this perspective, an efficient Quality Management is essential for the
success of these organizations. Thus, the objective of the present work is to evaluate the
evolution of Quality Management at the national level in the last 40 years. For this purpose to
be achieved, a systematic review of the literature was carried out under the term “Quality
Management” using the Web of Science database. It is intended, based on the results obtained
in the study, to assist in the investigation of the historical evolution, of the current parameters,
in addition to collaborating for the understanding of the subjects treated in the thematic
interface, approaches, trends and gaps. The results show that as of 2015, there was an increase
in the number of works published under the specified conditions, which demonstrates an
expansion of interests focused on the area in question, both by educational institutions and by
organizations. Thus, it is possible to understand that quality management in Brazil evolves into
a new scenario, which corresponds to the need for companies to have a competitive advantage
and the potential to compete effectively in the current market scenario, thus guaranteeing their
survival.
