Resumo:
This literature review aims to present the characteristics of the forage palm, demonstrating its
use and importance in the feeding of animals in the Brazilian semiarid region, due to the low
effectiveness of rain. Being the forage palm an alternative for food, as it is an energetic food,
and being able to deliver a good food reserve in dry periods during the year, being a low cost
and highly viable activity for properties of various sizes that want stay in livestock activities.
