Resumen:
The goal of this project is to realize a simple demonstrator for Frequency
Selective Surface (FSS) that is made of a waveguide. To achieve that, the
propagation of electromagnetic waves inside rectangular waveguides made by
metallic walls was studied. Also, a classic method for feeding modes inside the
waveguide was investigated. We also present the general concepts of the
filtering properties of the FSS. In a second part, the studies made are
presented. Waveguides loaded with different types of FSS were simulated with
CST. This allowed us to conclude that FSS presenting a symmetry along x and
y exhibit the same behavior inside the waveguide as they do in free space. For
FSS that have no symmetry along one axe, several resonance frequencies
appear. This work is concluded by presenting the desired demonstrator and
the perspectives for the continuation of this project.
