Resumo:
Lettuce is a hard-edged olive grove that stands out for its high nutritional value and great consumer acceptance. In its cultivation, it is necessary to use techniques that allow the plant to express its maximum genetic potential, aiming at a higher production and quality of its leaves, especially in the semi-arid Northeastern region, which presents high levels of radiation and temperatures and where the scarcity of water is a concern, with this, it is necessary to create alternatives capable of mitigating this stress caused to plants. The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth, yield and quality of the lettuce submitted to irrigation and shading with Agrotêxtil. Thus, an experiment was conducted in an experimental area at the Center of Human and Agrarian Sciences of the State University of Paraíba, Campus IV, Catolé do Rocha-PB, during the periods of August to September 2018. The experimental design was in randomized blocks with 5 x 4 subdivided plots, with 4 replicates. The first factor consisted of the irrigation slabs (60, 80, 100 and 125 of the ETo) and the shading with the 15 g.m2 (yellow, blue, green, white and open culture). On the occasion of the harvest, leaf area, plant height and plant diameter, stem and root length, stem diameter, number of leaves per plant, fresh head, root dry matter, stem, leaf and total, productivity, root shoot ratio and Dickson quality index. The increase in the amount of water applied in the irrigation promoted an increase in the parameters of growth and lettuce production with the irrigation depth of 109.28% of the ETo, which provided the highest fresh mass of the head when associated with the color of yellow shading.
